sydney at the daybook posted a bun tutorial here.  im not sure that my hair is long enough yet to make a good bun but i wanted something a little different today, so i tried it out.

i had the best day hanging out at the raleigh rescue mission for help portrait.  its amazing to see everyone come together and use their gifts to give hope to people in need.  we had a lot of beautiful people come through and had a great group to work with.

in honor of the coming holiday, i would like to share the following picture ...

as you could see in my halloween post, my mom is pretty good when it comes to costumes ... non of that store bought crap.  she usually went all out to make sure we were the best darn (insert any character that would require a costume here) we could be!  so here i am as mrs. clause during an elementary school Christmas play.

grr!  was unable to find one pic where i didnt need to chop my head off.  i am eager to try this challenge again in the spring/summer.  right now, i dont get home until after dark so that means i have to take photos first thing (even the light coming through the window helps).  i just cant do "natural" until after 10am or 2 cups of coffee (whichever comes first).  i would love to get  home and take my time taking pics and posting, but right now, i just dont have that luxury.

i have been saving this green and white striped shirt because i did not feel like ironing it ... i had forgotten how much i love it.  now i only have seven more days to get some use out of it.  so you may be seeing this shirt at least two more times within the next week.

im trying out the french braid tuck again today ... i am eager to see if it lasts all day.
