high five for friday

taking a moment to link up with lauren and share my five favorite things from this week.  
unfortunately, i only took a few photos ... i promise to do better next week!

1)  my cousin josh and his wife janelle came for a short visit last weekend.  i dont think we have been able to spend time with them since they were married over a year ago.  we cooked kabobs and corn, watched a movie, went to church and had a great lunch at the flying biscuit before they headed home.  

2)  remember when janelle sponsored the pick two giveaway back in june?  remember when i told you which two i would pick?  i was so excited to open this precious gift from her ... a handmade headband and solid perfume.  

3)  sunday afternoon, we headed to the carolina mudcats game.  we thought the weather was going to delay the game.  instead, the storm came through quickly and cooled everything off.  it made for a really nice evening with my family. 

4)  on wednesday, we slept in and then started painting the crib ... well, mainly sanded and primed the crib to get it ready to paint.  afterwards, we met some great friends at pullen park for a forth of july picnic.  it was hot and sticky but we still had an awesome time. 

5)  can i just say "hurray" for a break in the middle of the week!!!  seriously, i wish that we had every wednesday off to get things done and then that would leave the weekend for rest and fun :)  wouldnt that be nice!
